Our heavenly father and seeing how many things the world has to offer can destroy a young persons life.
thinking back to when i was at school there was alot of things that were brushed under the carpet because either the teacher was embarrassed to speak about it or the students were made to feel uncomfortable.
in the uk i see such a need for god in young peoples lifes but schools have stopped teaching young people about god.
the teaching of drug use , sex , body image and bullying are something that is rarely taught properly to young people and so they have no proper perseption on these subjects.
teenage pregnancy in the uk :
Of the 8,300 pregnancies among girls conceiving before the age of 16 in 2008, two-fifths resulted in births and the other three-fifths in abortions.
Drug use in teenagers :
A survey of 15 and 16 year-olds found 26% of boys and 29% of girls in the UK had indulged in binge drinking at least three times in the previous month.
And 42% of boys and 35% of girls admitted they had tried illegal drugs at least once.
bullying in schools:
31% of children experienced bullying by their peers during childhood, a further 7% were discriminated against and 14% were made to feel different or 'like an outsider'. 43% experienced at least one of these things during childhood.
Body image in teenagers:
42% of young girls want to be thinner
81% of 10 year olds are afraid of being fat .
51% of 9 and 10 year-old girls feel better about themselves if they are on a diet

How
I would love to be able to take church to schools.. so that young people can hear the word of god and be able to experience god right were they are..
to be able to have workshops on all of the issues that aren't properly addressed in schools. teach young people about these issues in a loving godly atmosphere were they can interact an feel comfortable enough to ask questions and get involved.
Having young people from church teaching young people.. having workshops were they can have fun , learn and not feel pressurised or embarrassed.
have council were if they have a worry they can have someone to talk too..
i really would love to see this happen and see our youth enriched with the love of god and the wisdom to know that they don't have to settle for the things that are pushed on them through the media and peer pressure. to show them that there is a god who loves them and they don't have to struggle and go through hard times alone.
If you think that this is something you would like to do or have the means to do please get your church involved and take it out to the young people.
