It's Time to GATHER!!!
LonelinessAnywhere - Any
Inspiration
I was having dinner with a group of friends about two years ago... one of my friends had just gotten back from a trip to Cuba and was telling us about his time there...
He looked me in the eye and said he did not know who was worse off... them or us...
Some of the places he visited in Cuba had four generations of families living in a small house with limited possessions... but they were so evidently happy. Yet in Sydney we have families living in houses that have more bedrooms than people and all the things they need... and yet we are so issolated and lonely
As a result of this conversation I made a conscious decision to connect with people who might be lonely or issolated.

How
Create a gathering... it could be a dinner, coffee, saturday picnic or anything you like to do...
Get a group of people together from a variety of different back grounds and make a regular gathering... where guests are ALWAYS welcome...
It could be a weekly, fortnightly or monthly thing...
As you go about your life pay attention to the people in your world that might be alone or issolated... it could be the guy who makes you coffee every morning, or the lady/girl in the desk next to you at work or school...
INVITE them to your next gathering and introduce them to everyone....
You never know... they may end up meeting someone they really connect with and chances are they will become a regular member of your gathering...
I have learned that people want to feel connected and loved... all they need is an invitation
