I was out with my mom today... and I saw a homeless man. We don't see them often where we live. He looked. Hardened.

It's not an innovative idea by any means.
When you see homeless people on the streets, asking, begging, for some change... why not share the love?
Who cares if its just a dollar or a few quarters? That person has NOTHING. So ANYTHING would make a difference.
"If you give them money, they'll buy drugs or alcohol."
Okay. Understandable. People in desperate situations get depressed and turn to substance abuse. Then why don't you give them food?
Or even a drink? A drink might even be better for people who haven't had a lot to eat for a long time.
The point is, there are people ASKING for help in an obviously desperate situation. Why not help?
