Re: what kmy is thinking

I want To Echo exactly what KMY is saying.

Can you Imagine what it's like for nobody to live in this world without a Mcdonalds Happy Meal, I was lucky enough to have alot of them, but i'm so reminded after seeing this film that even the sensation of laughing after a joke or singing a song is so far from any freedom they could possibly get.

I can only Imagine for folks that never heard the words " I love you deeply because Jesus does" what that has to be like. It's love they will find, definetly not relgion.

What I have learned as well, as that Jesus, the trintiiy, Is not at all a relgiion, sure churches out there that do that, the only churches that matter are the ones that emulate the bibles version of a church, and that is a people bound by unconditional love, it's not religion, It's love, and grace to all that have experience it, but those who haven't CRAVE IT, And experience it whether they know it or not

Re: what kmy is thinking

'We're All In This Together'! I'm reeling from this film. I was asleep in life, but am awakened to the call to action. Thank you kmy for sharing your honest reaction, as it is so encouraging to see your spirit lifted toward the heights God has in mind for you. :) Like kmy, Hillsong's presentation of our world has ignited within me a passion to make a change and to be a light and a conduit of Love in this world right now! I live in Los Angeles, California and just saw this amazing testimonial film to the Love we are filled with when we allow God into our hearts so that we may transform the lives of those around us for His kingdom.
Thank you so much Hillsong for bringing the entire world to our doorstep and for showing how we can make a difference today, and in this moment. May God continue to bless you and all our efforts as we plant seeds and rescue the lost. :)

Re: what kmy is thinking

I just watched the release of I-Heart in Abilene, Texas,
USA. I was moved to do my part, in my home, my community and my world. If everyone could realize "We are all in this together" there would be a powerful impact on the world, one by one.

May the Spirit of God release that revelation to each and everyone who know Jesus as Savior!

Keep doing what the Lord has placed in your heart Kmy! To Him be the GLORY!!

Great to hear from you Kmy! What a blessing to have this momentum from this type of video to launch an army of disciples to make a real and lasting difference in our families, community, city, nation and well beyond!

Look forward to what the Lord will continue to do through this vehicle!

Blessings, Jud

Re: what kmy is thinking

Jesus empowers every step of His revolution...it's so much bigger than we could ever imagine, if only we would dare to do so!

I love the emphasis on doing things locally-meeting the needs on your doorstep are just as important as the world-wide ones. Think global, act local.

You guys are doing great work to encourage, motivate and inspire a movement of love and revolution! Thanks for sharing Kmy :)

Re: what kmy is thinking

Come on Kmy, that's good stuff! We need to show love from the smallest to the biggest things in our lives. Let's keep being faithful in the small so that we can be faithful with the large!

And I'm from abilene too! I saw it in waco though, i go to baylor.

Re: what kmy is thinking

SO many good quotes, reminders & reality checks in this film. Here are a few of my thoughts after watching the movie:

---
There’s more to life than just ourselves and our petty little problems of drama and relationships and fitting in.

We see the ads, we watch the videos. We feel pity & guilt and we say, “Aww, I feel so bad.. That’s so sad..” But then we continue on with our lives like it’s nothing. Like it’s just a 30 second commercial that has no significance in our lives. But what about those people in the video? You think that after the thirty seconds that were shown to you, their lives get better?

As teenagers, as students, even as young adults, we think, “Well, it’s not that I don’t care, it’s just that.. it’s not like I can do anything about it anyway, so why bother?” But ohmygoodness people, there is no way I can stress enough how completely false that is. No matter how old young you are, don’t think your voice or your opinions don’t matter. You can make a difference. Like it says in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example…”

Here I am, through God’s grace & strength, as living proof, at seventeen years old, with a completed missions trip to the Philippines, a benefit concert for Typhoon Ondoy successfully on its way, and a story to tell. A story that shows that age is not a factor in making a difference in the world.

But please do not get me wrong; I take no credit whatsoever for the things I’ve done this past year. It was because of the talents, the heart, the compassion, and the opportunities that He’s blessed me with that I was able to do such things. And He clearly reminded me of that through the lives and stories of those people in that movie tonight. In 1 John 4:19 it says, “We love because he first loved us.” (Full blog here: http://jensinemay.tumblr.com/post/233694436/people-say-we-are-the-future-that-is-true-but-we-are)

--
This past summer, our church decided to do a missions trip in the Philippines with the Mangyans (a tribe; yes, they still exist) in Occidental Mindoro (a province). I admit that in the beginning I didn't really want to go because I felt that I wasn't being 'called' to go. But when I took the time to really think about the situation and talked to other people about it, I realized that there were people, God's people, who were in need, who had situations 18347108x worse than anything else I would label a problem, and I had the rare & amazing opportunity to do something about it. In the Hillsong film, someone had said, "There's no such thing as a 'call.' When you see a need, you meet it."

Church is not just about going to a service every Sunday, or a Bible study once a week, or even being a part of a ministry.. What is the point of learning the things that we do at those meetings if you're never gonna step out of the boat and do something?

Don't wait until you're retired to give your life to God.. You don't know if you're gonna live that long. In James 4:14 it says, "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."

Re: what kmy is thinking

I totally agree with kmy, I saw the film last night , I was numb, so many things went thru my head. I've always thought I was a good person but what does that mean if when I see a need I put on a blind eye and a deaf ear. This movie has made a tremendous impact, the change starts NOW, if there is a need I need to meet it, not when I win the lottery but now with what I have.

There's so much more that we can do but we choose not to! Just like the quote that I remembered from the film, "We train ourselves to look past need". Kmy, it's good to see a friend in the middle of this wanting to see change.. Hope you're changing the world, one Australian at a time lol. Miss ya friend

Re: what kmy is thinking

I think that have a breaking heart leads to caring about the things God does and watching this film definitely did that for me. Basic human rights are neglected all around us. People suffer needlessly. If we as the church all acted as the Acts church, I believe in a period of time we could cover this world and see these things ceased. Christ gave of himself until it hurt and he died. How often do we give until it hurts? How far will we go to see justice in another persons life? Are we truly willing to lay down our lives?

Let's see it this way:
JESUS came to CHANGE the world, not JUDGE it!
We should imitate HIM! He is the ultimate example!
Rock On! Blessings

Re: what kmy is thinking

Yeah, i felt just like you after i watched the movie... after i walked out of the theaters, i looked up to the sky and felt conviction, hope, love, and a passionate desire to do something. Anything to show love, and to show everyone that even if it seems impossible to change the world we live in, a small action from everyone is a unified movement to better our world. So I pray that the fire's that burn within our hearts will only grow bigger and burn brighter as it spreads to bring hope to the hopeless...

I've seen it.. The world can change with out youths'. Me being one, I have alot of faith. We just need to open our eyes to the opportunity we all have to change if not make a difference in the world

Re: what kmy is thinking

So I work and I sleep and go to church like everyone else. But it seems now a days the only place I see the movement of God is in the church on Sunday mornings and at youth on Sunday nights. The thing is that people want to start little get togethers and cook outs and church events but honestly no one is focusing outside the church any more.

So what I am saying is take that conviction and motivation and put it towards the town or city you are in. The church has already heard about Jesus, the rest of the world has not.

Re: what kmy is thinking

I love how you said we need to start now and not when we find ourselves in a place where OUR dreams have come true already. It's crazy to think that our idea of a dream is a career or a car or a holiday while another's is clean water and freedom from poverty.

Re: what kmy is thinking

Nice! That is amazing! I felt the same way too!!!

How can I go on living the way I was? Completely oblivious to the face that I don't know anything about anything. But I know Love and some people don't! =[

I like that you said we have to start NOW

If we're not going to start now, then when will we ever start?

Re: what kmy is thinking

Some very good thoughts Kmy! I agree that even though things can seem overwhelming at times, that isn't an excuse to not do whatever we can, even if it seems little in our own eyes.

Re: what kmy is thinking

Kmy your thought about the generations later seeing us stand up and take action is something that really strikes a chord. I know the changes we make here is going to affect the 100's and 1000's in later generations. Who knows, our actions can change the course of how people see life.. and that is an exciting thought!!!!!

Re: what kmy is thinking

Very true. We waste so much of our time, focus and money on everything for selfish reasons. Instead of the difference and opportunity we can make with in and through people all over the world. i just got back from 3 weeks in Romania for missions it was incredible and our [CA] LEADERSHIP ACADEMY is one of the best training fields you can be apart of.
