"After a week we shall just declare the area a mass grave" ... "We found some body parts, which we have decided not to count as a whole for now," said Musa Ecweru, the Minister for Disaster Preparedness, who was in the area.

Landslides in Easern Uganda have burried 3 villages. 92 bodies have been pulled from the ground so far but hundereds remain missing. Difficult terrain and inadequate rescue equipment hampered efforts. Thousands have been displaced into neighbouring areas.

A further 2000 people are now homeless after ther homes were floded in a seperate district. People are being asked to uproot their ready crops so that food isn't detroyed in gardens. Fears of disease outbreak are rife. Graves have been destroyed, coffins and bodies seen floating down river.

Re: Ways to help Uganda

This is too sad- Easern Uganda have burried 3 villages! And thousands of people without a home... fear of disease outbreaks... I'm deeply sorry for those who have been affected by this disaster. Our God is a God of all comfort, our protector, and a healer. I believe he'll restore those villages and their homes- give courage and strength to the rescue teams from all over the world, volunteers, sponsors, and many more... I thank God and bless them in advance. I pray that we'll all unite with one voice and pray for the broken hearted people who have been affected by the natural disasters in the last 12 months.

Jesus, help us! Not by being overwhelmed but by doing everything we can do! Be with every person that this has effected and the families that are going through this horrible time... Jesus if there are any people that still are alive underneath the mud help us get them out of there! Be with them when people are trying to get to them! You hear our prayers!

Re: Ways to help Uganda

Lord Jesus bring the supplies the people the funds to help rebuild this nation. Bring peace and comfort for the families who lost loved ones…Jesus heal those that were harmed through it and provide for those who lost it all because of it Father help these people, You love them so much, You cherish this nation as a whole and You treasure every individual heart that lives there…Jesus take care of them, provide for them, and may they feel Your love more than they have ever know before during this time…and that those who don’t know You will come to know You through it all in Jesus name
