About three years ago I was sitting with a friend who had just returned from a trip to Africa and we had an idea…what if we could use photography to advocate on behalf of people living in poverty.

Young people between the ages of 15 and 24 make up 18% of the world’s population – that’s 1.2 billion people. The United Nations has named 2010 the International Year of Youth. In honour of this, they have set up a Facebook page as a platform for young people to contribute their opinions and ideas on various topics.
