World Against Child Labor Day

June 12 marks World Against Child Labor Day. Effectively this is a day that shines light on the rights of all children to be protected against human rights violations.

Currently, 212 million children worldwide are involved in child labor, more than half involved in the worst of its forms.
That means, rather than being educated, acquiring skills to positively contribute to the future of their societies, they are figuratively and often literally tied up and away from the future that's rightfully theirs.

For us, shining a light involves not only using our collective voice, but also our power as aware consumers. This means actively assessing your impact on the labor market through demand and consequential mode of production.

Have a read of what the International Labor Organization (ILO) has proposed for today, and how you can be involved/learn more HERE >>
